The peninsula Skallingen covers 2,000 hectares of unique nature and is part of the Wadden Sea National Park. To the west are the dunes, offering protection against the North Sea. To the east are large and flat meadows, stretching towards Ho Bay and the Wadden Sea.

You can go for a walk along the stream Nymindestrømmen and experience a grand landscape with very distinct botany.

When walking in the oak forest Brejning Egekrat west of Videbæk, you can enjoy beautiful and characteristic nature.

A visit at the most western point in Denmark, Blåvands Huk is an adventure. Here the huge lighthouse ads its very special character to the area.

Hindø is a 70 hectares big and listed island in Stadil Fjord north of Ringkøbing.

At this place you will find nature playgrounds, wheelchair-accessible hiking trails, riding trails, mountain bike trails, orienteering posts, barbecue areas, tent sites, and shelters.

On this coastal stretch, you can see some of the most impressive dune landscapes in Denmark.

Ringkøbing Fjord with 300 square metres is the largest lake in West Jutland. Ringkøbing Fjord is surrounded by tidal meadows.

Experience Skjern Å, the beautiful and famous nature area in West Denmark. Skjern Å is Denmark’s most watery stream and spans over 94 km.

Skjern Enge is a 2,200 hectares large nature area dominated by meadows, wetlands and lakes as well as the rivers Skjern Å, Omme Å and Gundesbøl Å.

Skjern Enge is a fantastic area which offers many wonderful experiences for the public; also for those in wheelchairs.

Blåbjerg Plantation has a very beautiful nature. There is dunes, coast, "mountains", oak, moor, scrubs and plantation.

In the Western part of Jutland, Denmark, you will find the beautiful heath, Borris Hede. The area is closed off and used by the military for shooting practice.

Experience Varde Å, one of Denmark’s longest water streams and a beautiful place for a trip, where you can feel nature up close. Catch a fish or spot a bird.

For 150 years, the remains of Bagges Dæmning have reminded us of the failed drainage project in the north end of Ringkøbing Fjord.

A fine path system guides you through the charming poet’s grove in Ølgod Byskov

Experience the wild Danish nature on Lønborg Heath near the West coast. This preserved and untouched area offers lots of heather and bird song.

In Ølgod, you have access to 75 hectares of forest right on the edge of town—hence the name Ølgod Byskov [Town Forest]. The exciting plantation originated in 1882,  exclusively with mountain pine.

In Ølgod, a lovely route of 9 kilometres has been built around the city. The path is in good condition and most of it is paved with asphalt, the rest with gravel and stone dust.

The planting of Ølgod Plantation began in 1882. Its purpose was to provide shelter for the new station town of Ølgod.

Visit the Water Gardens for an extraordinary experience.

Kvie lake is low on nutrients, meaning that rare plants like spring quillwort grow in the clear water of the lake.

Nysø is a lake close to Varde, situated in beautiful nature. A part of the lake can be used for swimming but pay attention to the information signs at the lake.

Pølmose is a peat bog and until the 1960s peat was dug in the marsh.
