Karlsgårde Lake

Karlsgårde Lake is located close to Sig east of Varde. The 80-ha lake is one of the largest in the area. The lake is artificial and not very deep. It was established in connection with Karlsgårde Værket, Denmark's second largest hydro-electric power station, which is listed today.

There is an approx. 6 km long marked Hjertesti around the lake. A trip with varying nature, many different plants and on the lake, where is quite often seen a few birds. At the end of Kanalvej is Stemmeværkspladsen which is a scenic area with Varde Ådal's beautiful nature and exciting cultural history. Here are shelters for accommodation, campfire house and toilet.
